Viva Solo is a touch-sensitive arranger keyboard with 61 full-size keys, a stereo speaker system, USB/MIDI connection for computer/tablet, MP3 player, lesson system, and a wide selection of sounds and accompaniment rhythms. In addition to being powered by the included power supply, Viva Solo can also run on batteries (not included).
The sound section contains 422 sounds, including 32 piano sounds, including a fine grand piano sound, as well as a wide range of organ, string, synthesiser and guitar/bass sounds. The rhythm section offers a broad selection of rhythms with matching accompaniment in styles including pop, rock, jazz, Latin, country, gospel, dance and funk. Viva Solo’s extensive selection of sounds and accompaniments allows you to play your favourite songs with a full orchestra and a wide choice of different sounds.
It is not always easy to choose a suitable sound for different accompaniments. Viva has therefore equipped Viva Solo with OTS, giving you a shortcut to get playing quickly. Press the OTS button to set the automatic accompaniment tone, effect and panel settings that best suit your selected accompaniment.
When you find a combination of settings, sounds and accompaniment that you would like to return to, Viva Solo lets you save your settings so that you can recall them whenever you need them. Viva Solo has 16 programme locations where you can save all your favourite settings, so you do not need to remember or write them down.
Viva Solo’s built-in lesson system is based on 120 built-in songs that can be used to learn to play the keyboard. Select a song from the library and start it; Viva Solo’s large LCD display will then indicate which key/note to play in the melody. The right and left hands are practised separately until you feel confident enough to attempt the complete arrangement.
The option to connect Viva Solo to a computer/tablet via the USB-TO-HOST output gives you access to a wide range of keyboard learning resources. The USB output also makes it possible to use Viva Solo as a MIDI keyboard with a computer.
Viva Solo features a built-in backlit LCD display and includes both transpose and tuning functions. It is also equipped with a built-in metronome and a split function, which allows the keyboard to be divided into two identical sections—useful when two people need to play simultaneously. The dual function makes it possible to play two different sounds on the keyboard at the same time; for example, you can have an electric bass sound in the lower range and a vibraphone sound across the rest of the keyboard.
If you want to practise or play without disturbing others, you can connect headphones so that only you hear the sound from the keyboard. The built-in battery operation also allows you to take the keyboard with you and play even where mains power is not available.
